Panoramic view of the Amalfi Coast from Hotel Casa Angelina

Welcome to the Amalfi Coast. Located 1/2 h south of Naples, this is one of the most beautiful stretches of the Mediterranean coast. Steep, plunging into the sea, bathed in sunshine, you’re sure to fall in love with this coastline offering superb panoramas and charming little villages perched on mountainsides.

This is where we put down our suitcases for the night, at the Lifestyle Casa Angelina hotel in Praiano. The 5-star hotel, built 10 years ago, overlooks the sea in a pure, uncluttered style. All white inside and out, you’d think you were in Santorini, Greece. The hotel is decorated with numerous works by contemporary artists, with touches of Italian craftsmanship in the form of glass sculptures by Morano or by sculptures reminiscent of those found in Roman times at the nearby archaeological site of Pompeii. The Casa Angelina is definitely modern and cosy, and makes you want to have a drink on the terrace or read on the sofas in the lounges. There’s a sort of magical atmosphere in this relaxing and very comfortable place.

There are 39 rooms including 4 suites Eaudesea Experience which are former fishermen’s cottages, detached from the hotel, carved into the rock below and overlooking the beach. A luxury that is either priceless or available on request…

The hotel offers all the high service standards of a prestigious 5-star boutique hotel, with immaculately clean, white rooms, comfortable bedding and, for the most part, private balconies to enjoy the sumptuous coastal views. You just feel privileged to be here, in this cozy little nest, admiring this magnificent sunset and breathtaking view. Casa Angelina is a luxurious hotel where you’ll feel right at home.

Once again in this type of establishment, you won’t be disappointed by the buffet breakfast where you’ll find Italian traditions with cheeses, cold meats and local pastries. You’ll also have a choice of fresh juices, coffee, sweet and savoury pies, waffles and eggs cooked to order. A treat to be savored on the restaurant’s 4th-floor terrace.

The hotel also offers a spa service, as well as a gym where you can take a pilates or fitness class. We’re all about a healthy mind in a healthy body! And let’s not forget the swimming pool overlooking the Amalfi Coast.

GAVITELLA BEACH

260 steps down, you’ll find the Gavitella beach. And yes, the Amalfi Coast is very steep and the beaches are well worth the effort. That’s why the hotel has installed a panoramic elevator that drops you off at Beach club La Gavitella, a historic little bay in Praiano, with crystal-clear waters and a lively atmosphere (music, parties…) worthy of some trendy beaches.. worthy of some of the trendiest beaches on the Côte d’Azur. It’s a favorite destination for locals and hotel guests who come here for a day at sea. Even so, you’ll have to climb up and down hundreds of stone steps to get to the water’s edge, but the view is not at all unpleasant!

The hotel will have reserved for you one of their private mattresses at the front of the beach, as well as a bottle of water. Perfect for an afternoon in the sun with a dip in the clear water! Prices are right for this location: a pasta dish for 15 euros, a cocktail for 13 euros… luxury is within reach, as this is a public beach.

Another positive point is that a footpath gives you access to the village in 5 minutes. Praiano and free shuttles are available to take you to and from the hotel in the evening. Positano. Praiano is a great place to visit for a day, or simply to sit on a terrace and drink a fresh juice. Discover the charming perched villages of the Amalfi Coast.

Staying at Angelina House is an experience sure to enhance your stay on the Amalfi coast.

This article is my feeling and my experience. It was made possible thanks to a collaboration with the Casa Angelina hotel, whom I would like to thank for their invitation.
